Oh beloved potty training. I had been putting off this fun task waiting for the perfect time. Like most things in life there is never a convenient time for such things, so right after the holidays we got home and decided to take the plunge. By the second day I remembered in full force why I hated potty training. I used the basis of a one day method hoping it would make it easier. (I knew she wouldn't be done in a day...) I really didn't have an entire week to be stuck at home and devoted to the toilet, but one day...I could do that.
We used Ryan's day off. He took Maddi, and Brynnley and I went to potty training. It went pretty good that first day. We peed, even pooped, on the toilet a couple times, had few accidents and it seemed things would go smoothly. Then comes day two. I wasn't devoting every second of attention to her and we had one accident after another. No successes. By the end of the day I was ready to give up. Thanks to encouraging words from friends and family day three came and I was ready to start over. Day three wasn't much better though. But then, just like I remember with Maddi, it suddenly clicked. She started telling me when she need to go. We were having more successes than accidents and there was finally a light at the end of the tunnel. This was a good thing too, since we were heading to Pocatello for Lindy's dance competition in just a couple days.
This is what potty training looks like. I don't care to remember how many meals I ate in the bathroom that week. And sad to say...I believe this one was dinner. :)
