Celebrating Relief Society

I brought a cake to our Relief Society's birthday celebration.  It was fun being able to make a cake more for taste than what it needed to look like.  :)  This was my first time making a chocolate buttercream and it wasn't quite as stiff as I was used to so these darn ruffles gave me a run for my money, but I finally was able to get it done after using a few tricks I've learned along the way.  It was a very chocolatey cake and delicious!
I love the birthday celebration every year.  While serving as the activity leader for Relief Society I got to plan quite a few of these parties and had time to reflect on the organization and why we celebrate it.  It really helped me to realize and appreciate what an amazing thing it is!  Even though I feel a little less a part of it while in Primary, these types of activities help me to remember my role and what this organization has to offer.
