For two days this week I stayed at my Grandma Stimpson's house and canned. Thats all we did...just canning. Tuesday we seriously canned for about 8 hours straight! Then on Wednesday we went full steam for about another 6-7 hours. However, the fruits of our labors were great...I walked away with 9 boxes of jars!!! I don't know the exact count of everything, but we did spaghetti sauce, stewed tomatoes, plum syrup, plum jelly, and grape juice. To give you an idea we used a little over 25 lbs. of sugar for all the plum stuff! (Boy is it yummy though) I'm definitely set for the next year as far as any of this goes. I also got a box of green beans my grandma had already canned. It was a really fun time to just be with my grandma and learn all the tricks of the trade. Thanks so much grandma!! We've planned on doing it again next year, but for a little longer so I can do more things. Aren't grandmas great!?!

9 boxes of jars! 9?! Seriously, that's amazing. You're set forever!...well, for a very long time!
Looks like a lot of fun! Next year I'll have to come and do it with you guys. See ya in a few days! Oh-I'm pretty sure I'm gonna come up Wednesday night.
good job! I love that picture of Maddi and her bad hair day!
oh the pains of canning! it's always nice to be done for the year and see all the pretty bottles of food oh the shelf...or in the boxes stacked everywhere because of the lack of storage we have...:)
Good luck on your house! That's so freakin' exciting.
