Ryan has always wanted a dog. I wasn't against getting a dog, but wanted to wait until the right time, part of that inlcuding having our fence in. Well, this summer he came home and said that a lady came into the school and told him she had some yellow lab puppies that they were giving away, no charge. He came home so excited and I just thought it would pass. Well, about two days later we were heading over to her house to see the puppies. By that time they only had one left. We went home to "think" about it, but I knew we were getting the dog. I really didn't have any argument other than the fence and Ryan already had the answer- his parents had an old dog run they wanted to get rid of. So, the next day we went and picked up our puppy. We decided to call her Zoey and now we are officially dog owners. She really has been a good dog and we have recently started some training classes with her to make sure she's well behaved. Ryan plans on bird hunting with her. She's definitely a puppy still and has A LOT of energy, but learns quickly and is really good tempered. She just loves to play. :) Our trainer calls her an overgrown lap dog, because she always wants to be right up on your lap and playing........but we are going to cure her of that. :)

The girls love Zoey. As she gets bigger though, they are a little more hesitant since she can quite easily knock them over, especially Brynnley. But, when Zoey is calm she lets them do whatever they want to her. Brynnley pulls her tail, climbs on her, lays on her, whatever. :)
