Maddi has been so excited to start school! She would always tell people that she would start Kindergarten in the fall. The night before Ryan gave her a blessing. I wasn't sure if she really understood exactly what it was, but since then she has talked about that special prayer dad gave her so she wouldn't be nervous. That makes my heart happy right there. :) That first morning I was worried about how well she would wake up. (I get her up at 7:15) But, as soon as she remembered it was the first day of school she practically jumped out of bed. (not so much enthusiasm has been displayed since then) We got ready and didn't even feel rushed at all! So, me, Maddi and Brynnley loaded up into the car to head to the school. I showed Maddi where her classroom was and she walked in and didn't look back. No good-bye. She is growing up too fast.
After the first week Maddi started to ride the bus to school. They will bus kindergartners one way. So she goes across the street at 7:45 in the morning and catches it with two other girls. She loves the bus! We have missed it a couple times, but for the most part it has been great. Saves me one trip a day.

One of the hardest things for Maddi to decide is what to eat. We always fought over it practically every morning. Knowing this I knew I had to come up with a solution for school since we wouldn't have time for her to think about it for an hour. So, we came up with a breakfast chart. I need to make duplicates of some of the things so she can have them more than once a week. (hence why Thursday is blank, she wants pancakes again) It has worked great though! I set her clothes out and then go get her breakfast ready while she gets dressed. No arguing, no deciding. I love it when a plan comes together!

I love the chart. It is super cute, and makes my heart happy to know that my girls still love charts. I have a dinner time chart that sadly isn't that motivating any more for me. Maybe I need a prize when I actually stick to it. Come to think of it, that's a dang good idea. HMMMM - what should it be.
