LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!!
So, our ward did a Pinewood Derby for an Elders Quorum acitivity. It was soooo much fun! Couples had to make their cars together and this is what Ryan and I created. I was so excited to do this post that I actually forgot to take some early on pictures...oops! I do have some though.
This is where we worked most of the wood magic. Good thing our basement has a ledge around the outside...guess we need a work bench. :)
This is the car ready for paint.
While Ryan did the majority of the woodwork, I took on the painting. My magic happened on the kitchen table. It took lots of time and research, but I think we managed to do a pretty good job.
These are all the cars that night. Oh, did I mention there were no rules!?!
We ended up taking second for fastest. This wasn't actually the car that beat us, but we only lost by about 1/100 of a second!!! But, we weren't too sad beacause we did win....
Best Design! They even had trophies! Ryan took it to work the next day to show off. :)

We'll have to race it against one of our winners. But we never won best design.
Sweet! You two are so crafty and handy (you know, like a handyman). Looks like you are enjoying your new ward. And hey, what's not to love about a pinewood derby race? I remember going to them with Dad when we were little kids.
