Grandma and Grandpa wanted to take the kids to the zoo one day so we packed up and headed out. I always find the zoo to be a fun outing. There's just something about watching animals.

Maddi had these two's attention for quite a long time. She thought it was hilarious that they just sat there and stared at her!

The Komodo Dragon was another favorite. The kids thought it was pretty scary looking and then when there was a fake one around the corner we had to work pretty hard to convince them that it wasn't real and would be safe to sit on for a picture.
We were lucky enough to go during their Butterfly Exhibit. It was seriously very cool. There were so many butterflies and they would land on you everywhere! The kids didn't love it at first and we each had one clinging to us, but by the time we made it through the were enjoying it.
A perk of going with grandparents is that they will pay for you to do things like feeding the giraffe. Brynnley got too scared to hold up her lettuce, but Maddi was brave enough to try it out!
And then there were the goats. You could put a quarter in to get some food and feed them. I don't know how many quarters we went through, but it became apparent quite quickly why all the goats looked rather round. They knew exactly what was going on and the kids loved feeding them.
Thanks grandma and grandpa for a fun day!
