The Pantry

Meet "The Pantry"

Years ago, I was an avid coupon shopper.  During those days this pantry was always well stocked and organized.  I tended to buy the same things and always had them on hand so my rows stayed full and the pantry, in general, stayed organized.  Well, I stopped couponing, which meant I stopped buying some of the things.  The row emptied out and "other things" started getting put there.  Slowly but surely, I have lost all sense of organization here.  It drives me crazy trying to find something.  Organizing this thing has been on my list for a while now.  So, I figure posting the before picture on my blog will make me finish this project.
Last summer I had a Tupperware party and got a few of the Modular Mates for my pantry.  This January when they were on sale I used some Christmas money to buy some more.  With those and the awesome chalkboard tape I found, I am ready to tackle this thing.  I'm taking it one shelf at a time so I can hopefully not be overwhelmed.  See, I have a problem of wanting to plan things out from start to finish.  I do this with basically every aspect of my life, just ask my family.  :)  Now, it doesn't always work, but believe me, I give it my darndest effort.  Problem is, sometimes this immobilizes me.  As I look at this pantry I can't quite picture where each can is going to go, exactly which categories or baskets I want and where.  I try to think of every possible thing I may someday have in my pantry and plan for all scenarios.  (Crazy, I know)  So, the pantry just sits like this.  But, one row at a time I think might do the trick.  So, here's to conquering this thing once and for all!  I have done a lot of organizing in my house and have made some awesome progress, but this thing stares me in the face everyday and its time for it to go.  I want to smile every time I open these doors and see all my pretty labeled containers and everything in its place.  I know you'll be sitting on the edge of your seats waiting for the final product so I'll try not to keep you waiting too long.  Try, being the key word there.

Heres the trick - make each row like an aisle at the grocery store. I always go the baking aisle in my pantry and make sure it is well stocked. The others like the cereal aisle gets to share with pasta, cuz who really cares. This helps me. Good Luck!
