Two Steps Closer

My sister, Jacque came into town a couple weeks ago to visit and help me with some baby preparations. We worked like crazy and actually got quite a bit accomplished in a couple days-it was great! Now if only I could say I have made more progress since she left, but unfortunately life has overtaken me for the moment. Next week though will hopefully become project week once again. We got the baby's room and Maddi's bed painted, as well as some organizing. Now its onto finishing my glider chair, finding a dresser, and planting our garden!

Here's the pics of Maddi's bed. We've had this daybed since we were married, but I wanted to give it a fresh coat of paint and make it white. I think it turned out pretty good. There's a few problem spots, but you don't notice them.

Besides helping out, Jacque and Maddi had lots of fun together. Here's a funny little photo shoot they had in the fort they built to sleep in one night.

Painting the baby's room was a NIGHTMARE! Yellow, I have decided, is not an easy color to pick. I went through MANY different colors and repainting the room over and over before we finally got one that was okay. It will certainly be a while before I ever choose yellow again. :)

This is the extent to the baby's room at the moment. I am working on decorations (and more furniture)...if it happens I'll post pics.
