Brynnley's birthday comes in the midst of a crazy summer and this year I just didn't have much time to plan anything very organized for her. Plus, we had no family that was going to be in town. So, we decided to just do our own thing. We went with a rainbow theme and started the day out with rainbow pancakes. They looked much cooler before they cooked, but the girls thought they were pretty neat. :)
That afternoon we went to the nature park and fed the ducks. Brynnley loved it, although I must say that I was certain she was going to fall in! That girl makes me so nervous!
The poor ducks were chased around for over an hour by our girls, but they didn't seem to mind. I think they must get fed often too, because they weren't all that interested in the bread we had to offer...maybe it was the bread.
To finish off the theme I made some rainbow cupcakes. They were actually a lot more time intensive than I originally thought. I always make some type of cute cake, but decided cupcakes would be easier this year and was planning on sharing them with neighbors that evening while we all visited outside. Lets just say that putting all those layers in was a bit time consuming, but I loved the finished product and would certainly make them again if there was an occasion for them!
| Birthday Girl! |
So, Miss Brynnley, hope you had a wonderful birthday! This little bug is such a fun, cute little girl. Her facial expressions are priceless as is her smile. She gives the sweetest little kisses and the biggest hugs. She never really stops and can be a bit of a tease with her older sister. She loves taking care of her babies and playing with Maddi.
At her 2 year check up she weighed in at 18.6 lbs! We still haven't hit the 20 lb. mark, but amazingly she keeps gaining weight and moving up on the charts even if it is still below the charts. :) She's starting to say a few words and I'm sure it won't be long before we will wonder where our silent bug went to.
| Unrelated, but I love this picture of her and she loves her beanie. |
